About the Role We are a newly established Gold Pajak (Pawn) shop with ambitious plans to expand across Malaysia. We are looking for a seasoned operations professional to lead our flagship store and grow with us. We seek a hands-on leader who has spent over a decade mastering the trade and knows the difference between 22K and 24K at a glance. If you have extensive experience in the gold pawnbroking industry, we want to hear from you. Working Days & Hours: • 6 working days per week • Tuesday – Sunday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM • Monday - Off Working Location: • Klang Valley Gender: • Open to Male & Female candidates Salary Range: • RM 5,000 – RM 8,000 Benefits: • Overtime claims available (up to 5:30 PM) • Career growth opportunities within Karisma Education Group Requirements: • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of working experience in the gold industry, preferably with direct experience in a Gold Pajak (pawn) shop environment. Retirement are also welcome. • Technical Knowledge: Must possess full, in-depth knowledge of gold recognition, including the ability to identify purity levels (999, 916, 750, etc.), spot counterfeit items, and accurately assess value for pawning purposes. • Procedural Expertise: Deep understanding of operational SOPs specific to gold pawnbroking, including security protocols, stock reconciliation, safe handling, and compliance with Malaysian pawnbroking regulations (where applicable). • Academics: Formal academic qualifications are not required. Your practical experience and trade knowledge are paramount. • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, unwavering integrity, high attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Roles & Key Responsibilities: • Operations Management: Oversee daily pawn shop operations, ensuring smooth workflow from customer walk-in to loan disbursement and redemption. • Gold Authentication & Grading: Utilize extensive knowledge to verify the purity, weight, and authenticity of gold items offered for pawn. Ensure accurate valuation based on current market rates. • SOP Implementation: Establish, enforce, and maintain strict Standard Operating Procedures regarding pawning transactions, loan calculations, inventory security, vault management, and customer service. • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor staff on proper gold assessment, customer handling, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. • Inventory & Arrears Management: Manage unredeemed items, conduct regular stock takes, and oversee the disposal or sale of forfeited gold assets.
